The Dan Hotels is the oldest, most prestigious hotel chain in Israel.
It was founded in June 1947, when two brothers, the late Yekutiel Federmann and the late Shmuel Federmann, purchased the Kate Dan, a 21-room 'pensione' (boarding house) on the Tel Aviv seashore. Today, the Dan Chain owns and operates 13 prestigious hotels, an exclusive Apartment Hotel,
a shopping center, an international Convention Center, a training school for hoteliers, and more.
The Dan Hotels Corporation Ltd. has been registered on the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange since 1982, with 87% of its shares owned by the Federmann family.
The company owns and operates 13 hotels throughout the country, with a total of 3,300 rooms.
The majority of the Dan Hotels are graded by the Ministry of Tourism as First Class hotels, the remainder as Second Class hotels. The company manages and operates 5 VIP lounges at Ben Gurion International Airport in partnership with other companies. The company also owns commercial property and apartments at 'King David Towers' in Tel Aviv and has one-third ownership in the commercial and management center of the Panorama Shopping Mall in Haifa. The company is also a partner in the catering services provided to the Israeli Defense Forces.
